Introduction - Collaborations Among Center Investigators

This web page is designed to facilitate collaborations among Center
members and across disciplines. Collaboration within the Center are
numerous and foster innovative approaches to many research processes.
Current and proposed collaborations among the original Center Investigators
are summarized in the Table of Center Investigator Interactions shown below.
Interdisciplinary collaborations include the Colleges of Nursing, Pharmacy
and Medicine. The Center intends to capitalize on these initial and proposed
future collaborations to promote and expand investigation of Injury
Mechanisms and Related Responses in new and interesting ways.

Focus Area Collaborations

One way that we are attempting to expand research in injury mechanisms and
related responses is to clearly identify research focus areas among Center
Investigators. The key focus areas are injury mechanisms that the original
Center Investigator identified as central to their current and future research
efforts. For example, in the table below it is easy to see that injury due to
inflammation is a focus area for all Center Investigators and is one of the
Centers strengths. Identification of Center Investigators focus areas not only
allows for information sharing within these topic areas, but also assists
collaborations among other investigators who have questions in these areas.

Identification of the Center Investigator collaborations is an ongoing process
as every new Center Investigator is asked to identify focus areas and current
and future collaborations. To facilitate this process the Center has developed
a searchable database that can identify those center members who have
identified any of the nine focus areas as consistent with their research efforts.
